Thermal Insulation Blankets for Exhaust Piping and Silencers
We worked with one of the largest manufacturers of stationary equipment in the natural gas industry to provide a thermal insulation solution. Their services include providing lubrication regulating systems and supplying oil level regulators, shut down devices, low flow meters and more, geared toward oil drillers. Our client was creating a new product line to support their customers’ requirements to reduce sound pollution and excess heat. This new product was skid mounted, possessing a diesel engine, exhaust piping, a silencer for the exhaust and various control valves to support natural gas compression on worksites.

The Challenge
During the design process of their new product, our client realized the exhaust piping and silencer on the skid was going to require a heat blanket for protection and noise reduction.
With this being a new product, there was going to be a number of design alterations and configuration changes before completing the final design. The client needed to partner with a company that could adapt and change the covering designs digitally throughout the product modifications. That’s when they called Team OCTI.
The Solution
Working collaboratively with their design engineers, Team OCTI was provided detailed blueprints for the skid, product and all related materials. From there, our team was able to use state-of-the-art technology to design several iterations before completing a full prototype of the necessary removable thermal blanket coverings based on the client’s final product design.
The Outcome
Team OCTI met our client’s timeline and shipped the completed prototype for the industrial insulation blanket to their site for installation on the completed skid. Our client now has a standardized thermal blanket design for every skid they manufacture moving forward for better efficiency.
